Iwuanyawu set to become new ohanaeze ndi Igbo worldwide president-general
Baring any last minute change of mind or political intrigues Imo State born elder statesman Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu is set to become the next president-general of ohanaeze ndi Igbo worldwide.
He is to replace the late professor George Obiozor who died last year.
This revelation was made by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma who nominated Chief Iwuanyawu as the late George Obiozor was also from Imo State and as such Imo State still retains the rotational turn to produce the president-general.
Iwuanyanwu was earlier on presented to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma by a delegation of the Imo Elders Council led by the Chairman, HRM Eze (Dr.) Cletus Ilomuanya, at the New Executive Council Chambers Government House, Owerri on Wednesday.
In his response and acceptance speech Iwuanyanwu described his adoption and the role he is to play as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World-wide as a “sacred duty.”
Iwuanyawu has been a strong supporter of Hope Uzodinma despite being a Chieftain of the opposition PDP while Uzodinma is of the APC.
