Ex speaker Gbajabimilia resigns as member house of representatives

Former Speaker Gbajabiamila has resigned as House of Representatives member .

The Speaker House of Representatives, Abbass Tajuddeen, has declared the seat of Femi Gbajabiamila vacant.

Gbajabiamila, who has been representing Surlere 1 Federal Constituency of Lagos at the lower chamber of the National Assembly since 2003 resigned following his appointment as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

Today, the new Speaker read the letter submitted by his predecessor, who was in the Chamber to announce his resignation.

Gbajabimilia resignation is sequel to his recent appointment as chief of staff to the president.

This is making him to cross carpet from the legislative arm of government to the executive arm of government and thus surrendering his over two decades legislative experience.
