Soldier shoots bus driver at Magboro bus stop over minor scuffle

Magboro town in Obafemi Owode Local government of Ogun state was on Saturday afternoon thrown into mourning and pandemonium after one of the soldiers attached to a truck park close to the Bus stop shot a bus driver twice on the back over an argument bothering on parking space.

It was gathered that the bus driver had parked his bus somewhere close to the truck park where the soldiers were guarding when suddenly an argument broke out.

According to female eye witness who doesn’t want her name in print said that the soldiers shot the two tyres of the bus driver and when the bus driver questioned their action, one of the soldiers chased him and fired shots at him at close range.

Another eye witness account said that the soldiers wanted the driver to part with some money but his refusal angered them, and one of them chased him and shot him twice on his back.

Yet another account of the incident from a car painter at Magboro market who prefers to be anonymous said that soldiers asked the bus driver to move his bus off where they were guarding but he refused. Instead he went inside his bus brought out wheel spanner and hit one of the soldiers. This infuriated the soldiers leading to one of them shooting the driver.

The victim, soaked in blood, was reportedly taken to a hospital in Ibafo for medical treatment as sympathizers thronged the scene.

Whilst people gathered round the areas the soldiers mobilzed another set of soldiers who came around and ferried away their men from the scene.

Few minutes after policemen from Warewa division in Ifo Local government arrived on the scene but the soldiers had already left.

However, they scooped information and obtained videos and photos from those present on the scene.
