Trademore estate,Abuja overtaken by flood as cars and houses submerge in water

Flood has taken over Trademore Estate located along Airport Road, Abuja.

The flood which was as a result of heavy down pour in the early hours of Friday left residents trapped.

The flood has submerged many of the houses, cars and other structures in the estate.

At the area where Christ Embassy Church is located in the estate, some people, who were outside waiting for the rain to subside had to scamper to safety because of the surging flood, and some passers-by were seen trying to rescue some trapped residents while the waves of the flood continued to increase.

A resident, Abdullahi Tanko said the was least expected as officials of the the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) had constructed drainages to forestal such occurrence.

Also a long time resident of Abuja Chakirikpo said that this very Lugbe estate suffers severe flooding every year! In fact in her words she said the flood happened last year and even killed some people.

To her the houses in the estate should be demolished to clear the way for water channels to find its way without any blockage.
