Knocks on Enugu Gov. Peter Mbah for leaving Innoson motors to buy Hyundai cars

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the decision of the Enugu state governor, Peter Mba to patronizing foreign car company instead of the Innoson company.

Many believed that the governor ought to have supported local production by patronizing Innoson Vehicles to boost security operations in the State.

Governor Mbah had announced on his verified Twitter handle, the set-up of a new team, Distress Rapid Squad, DRS, which according to him is a replacement for the comatose Police Urban Patrol which is part of his administration’s efforts to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.

The social media condemnation followed after he made the announcement sharing photos of the Hyundai Cars on Twitter. “I have set up a new team of the police branded Distress Rapid Squad (DRS), to replace the comatose Police Urban Patrol. They will patrol the streets of Enugu with a view to rapidly respond to security issues in our state.”

“This is part of the proactive measures of my administration to ensure security of lives and properties, and the total wellbeing of Ndi Enugu. It is my priority to ensure that Enugu State is safe to enable exponential economic growth.”
