JUST IN: Senator Yari regains freedom from DSS after Tinubu ordered his arrest
Senator representing Zamfara West and former governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari, has regained his freedom from the Department of State Services (DSS).
“Senator Yari, who was detained and quizzed by operatives of the DSS, was released last night around 11pm,” says a Sunday Sun report.
“The former governor, who strongly bidded for the Senate Presidency, went to the office of the DSS on Thursday and was detained thereafter,” the report adds.
The purpose of detaining and quizzing Senator Yari is not clear but unconfirmed reports said it was in connection with his alleged refusal to pick the calls of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Social media commentator Deji Adeyanju had in series of tweets and posts on Facebook queried the alleged order of Senator Yari by Tinubu. He sounded an early warning signals that if this is not challenged will pave way for introduction and entrenchment of draconian rule in Nigeria.
