University of Calabar law students protest against Prof.Cyril Ndifon emergence as faculty dean…says they are tired of sucking his dick
Some female students of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Cross River State, have protested against the emergence of the Dean of the faculty, Prof. Cyril Ndifon.
In a viral video making rounds on Twitter, the students were seen holding placards with different inscriptions, calling out the lecturer for allegedly harassing them.
In the video shared by @_nwatuofficial on Twitter, the students alleged that the lecturer engages in law school manipulation, adding that he must go for their sanity.
One of the placards reads, “Law students are not Bonanza, Prof. Ndifon should stop grabbing us. The Faculty of Law is not a brothel.”
Another placard reads, “Prof. Ndifon, let the girls with big breasts breathe, don’t suffocate us.”
“We are tired of sucking dicks,” another placard reads.
The allegations have, however, generated reactions on social media, with many joining the students to lend their voices against the alleged sexual harassment.
Reacting to the development, a Twitter user @UnkleAyo wrote, “It will interest you to know that this same Professor was suspended in 2015 for raping a law student in his office. Why was he reinstated? How did he end up becoming a dean again? The V.C of UNICAL is obviously of questionable character.”
@trinityboi wrote, “Female students of the Unical Faculty of Law are currently protesting against their Dean, Prof. Ndifon Cyril. He is notorious for sexually harassing female students. These students are now being threatened with expulsion. When will these men stop this act? This is one of the longest lingering problems most females face in school. Lend a voice ✍️.”
The vice chancellor of the University, Prof. Florence Banku Obi while addressing the aggrieved students said their cries and complaints have been heard and necessary actions will be taken.
She further commended the students over the way and manner they peacefully conduct the protest in line with the school rules and regulations.
She said, “I want to first thank you for the peaceful manner you have conducted yourself. It shows actually that you are law students. You understand the rules and regulations of the university. We have heard your complain
However, a check by Tribune online revealed that this is not the first time the professor has been accused of sexual assault. He had previously been suspended by the school management in 2016 for allegedly raping a student in his office.
