Lagos-ibadan expressway will be completed by middle of September—Umahi, Minister of works

The minister made the statement on Tuesday during a visit to the sites of completed and ongoing Federal Government projects in Lagos State.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, says the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is scheduled for mid-September, years after reconstruction commenced on the ever-busy route.

Construction work is ongoing on the last stretch of both sides of the expressway after several missed deadlines.

Umahi gave the assurance after being briefed by officials of the ministry and contractors handling the project.

With this Umahi projection that Lagos-Ibadan expressway will be completed in Sept it will about the tenth time that the federal government is promising on delivering the all important road.

Fashola as works minister gave more than seven promises on completion of the road while federal director at ministry of works on her own has given about four unreliasable dates of completion and commissioning of the road.
