Ondo state governor Akeredolu returns after three months of medical tourism abroad
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has returned to the country from his medical vacation in Germany.
Recall that Akeredolu had in June, handed over to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa when he proceeded on 21 days medical leave. He was said to have travelled for medical treatment in Germany.
The news of his return was confirmed on the X handle of his wife, Betty Akeredolu.
“Homebound,” Mrs Akeredolu captioned her husband’s picture in an airplane.
Also, the Ondo State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Mr Wole Ogunmolasuyi, confirmed Akeredolu’s arrival, per The Punch report.
He said the governor was already in his Ibadan residence.
Ogunmolasuyi said, “We thank God the governor has arrived in the country. He landed in Abuja and moved straight to Ibadan.”
Governor Akeredolu has been seriously sick since last year suffering from an undisclosed ailment.
His Imo state born wife Betty Anyanwu had in public commentary last year said her husband was suffering from outcome of poison from one of his unnamed girlfriend.
It’s hoped that with the return of Akeredolu this time around that his health is fully restored and that he can face the onerous task of providing good governance to the good people of Ondo state.
