One dead, three Injured as wheat loaded truck overturned at Otedola bridge on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

An overturned truck loaded with with wheat has taken a lane on the Otedola Bridge in Ojodu Berger, Lagos State.

The accident has claimed the life of one person as three of others are seriously injured.

According to rescue team at the scene of the accident said the dead victim was as a result of bags of wheats falling on top of him as he was standing inside the fallen truck.

The accident which occured this morning has caused traffic gridlock on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway and Ojodu Berger since the other part of the bridge is flooded.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, on the other hand, have stated that efforts are being made to remove the vehicle from the road.

“Effort is on for the recovery of the contents and the truck from the road,” LASTMA said via it’s verified Twitter handle.

As at the time of this report the truck has not been removed and traffic is still building.

The injured victims have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
