Governor Soludo declares free education for nursery, primary & JSS 1–JSS3
The Anambra state governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has declared free education to some categories of students in the state.
Those under the coverage of the free education are nursery, primary one to six and JSS one to JSS three
The governor made this declaration in public announcement captured in a viral video making the rounds.
According to him he said it’s a new project and new era in the education policy of the state to ensure that every Anambra state child avails himself or herself the opportunity of going to school free of charge without being denied or encumbered with the burden of school fees.
Anambra state has of recent being in the forefront of great performance in WAEC and UTME JAMB examination with highest scorer in Jamb coming from the state and best WAEC result also coming the state
In the same vein the state is notorious with high level of school drop out as some of the youths particularly male children preferring to go and learn a trade or craft in what is generally known as igba boyi.
