Rampaging & unbeaten Arsenal wallops Bournemouth 4-0, places second in EPL table

Arsenal extended their unbeaten start to the 2023/2024 English Premier League season with a resounding 4-0 victory over struggling Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners controlled the match from the outset and took the lead in the 16th minute when Bukayo Saka pounced on the rebound after Gabriel Jesus’ header struck the post. Arsenal doubled their advantage just before the half-time break when Martin Odegaard converted a penalty after Eddie Nketiah was fouled in the box.

The points were sealed shortly after the restart with Kai Havertz, making the most of another EPL start for Arsenal, scored from the spot after Odegaard was upended in the area. The Norwegian playmaker then turned provider late on, whipping in a free kick for defender Ben White to head home a fourth.

It was a dominant display from the Gunners against an outmatched Bournemouth side who have now lost four of their opening seven matches. Arsenal barely had to move out of second gear as they cruised to a fifth straight league victory.

The win keeps Arsenal just below defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table with 17 points against the 18 points of the Etihad side. Next up is a European outing against Lens in the UEFA Champions League while Bournemouth go to Everton for their next challenge.
