You handed over a very sick economy to Tinubu —Political singer Dauda Rarara blasts Buhari

Renowned Hausa political singer, Dauda Kahutu, aka Rarara, has accused former president Muhammadu Buhari, of handing over a sick economy to his successor, President Bola Tinubu.

Mr Rarara, who became a household name after releasing several hit songs for Mr Buhari, also expressed regret for supporting the former president.

The musician disclosed this during a press conference in Kano on Thursday.

Mr Rarara wondered why the Tinubu government has yet to open up about the alleged recklessness of Mr Buhari’s administration.

Rarara further claimed that he had been deprived of the opportunity to meet with President Bola Tinubu to advise him on how to expose the alleged corruption perpetrated by the previous administration.

He said, “Despite the fact that the president has made appointments in sectors where monumental corruption took place, nobody is saying anything.

“The president hasn’t said anything. Even the NSA, Defence Minister, Minister of Agriculture, and SGF are all quiet; nobody is saying anything.

“And it would be very disastrous for this administration to be built on the foundation of lies, it would have consequences.

“I challenge them to tell people the truth. Buhari made sure he destroyed this country before leaving office. He destroyed everything. And I want them to let Nigerians know.

“There is no big deal about it. During the PDP administration, we told Nigerians that the party had killed this country, and that was why the people voted for us.

“So why should we be afraid to tell Nigerians what Buhari did?”

When asked if he regretted supporting Mr Buhari, the musician answered in the affirmative.

“Yes, I regret supporting him. The reason is that I supported him blindly, hoping that he would fix the damage done by the PDP administration,” he said.

Speaking on his contributions to the success of the ruling party, the praise singer said he deserved to be rewarded with ministerial appointment.

“Even if I won’t be appointed minister, I deserve to have a say or recommend people for ministerial and other positions.

“I have passed the level to be given a slot for one political appointment. And it’s not that I have been used and dumped. But if they dare dump me, I will fire back.

“I have also passed a level where I would go to places uninvited. In the North, only Ganduje and Aminu Bello Masari contributed to Tinubu’s victory more than me. So I deserve to recommend people for political appointments,” Mr Rarara added.
