Sonni Allison, founder of Redstar Express bags PHD in logistics supply chain of Ballsbridge university
It was a joyous and momentous occasion for Mazi Sonni Allison as he receives doctor of business administration (DBA) from the prestigious Ballsbridge university.
Joyous in the sense that the achievement did not come on a platter of gold nor was it achieved with ease but was accomplished through hard work, rigorous study, process and burning of the proverbial midnight lantern.
This is more astounding as Sonni Allison is over 70 years old and still has the stamina, dexterity and doggedness to endure the rigorous academic process that culminated in the crown of the converted doctor of philosophy degree (PHD).
But to many who know Sonni Allison this did not come as a surprise as he is a man who never say no until he achieves his aim and goal.
To be noted here is that supply chain management is where he has spent the better part of his life and the history of logistics and courier industry in Nigeria will not be complete without prominent mention of Sonni Allison.
This is because he has garnered almost 40 years in the logistics/ courier industry as he was at a time the sales Director of DHL where he resigned honourably in 1992.
By October 1992 he founded Redstar Express, a leading courier/ supply logistics chain company. He did this together with two other ex staff of DHL Messrs Patrick Nwosu and Eddie Olafeso in what close associates call the three musketeers.
He was the first managing director/founder of Redstar Express from October 1992 to 1995 when he handed the baton to late Tonye Ofuani and today Redstar Express is about one of the three fastest growing logistics/courier company in Nigeria.
