We will apply for bail to release Ajao estate chief—Lawyer to Eze Frederick Nwajagu confirms as he appears in court
The Eze Ndigbo of Ajao estate ; Igwe Frederick Nwajagu whose trial started in the month of July, 2023 appeared. again today before Her Lordship Justice Adesanya Yetunde of the Igbosere High court .
Chief Emefo Etudo the lead counsel to the defendant assured the media in his brief but precise interview that the totality of evidence so far made him very confident as nothing incriminating was found against the defendant according to the PW2, the police .
With these , the lead counsel said bail for the defendant can be apply for in the course of investigation, nothing incriminating was found against the defendant and for founding nothing incriminating against the defendant is the totality of the evidence.
Though , there was an act of wanting to pull his client down which Chief Emefo Etudo claimed was malicious but because the case is in the court he will not condemn anyone rather left the judgement for the court.to.decide
When lawyer Etudo was queried on his perception regards the court proceedings so far lead counsel Etudo was glad to.tell the media that ‘ The Judge has been excellent in the processings
It will be recalled that Eze Frederick of Ndigbo community at Ajao estate was arrested months ago; the 1rst of April, 2023 to be precise due to a viral video termed to be a threat to the Lagos state government which the defendant claimed was just a mere expression.
Some Nigerians are calling for the immediate and unconditional release of the Ajao estate chief as they cannot see anything wrong with his statement.
To them the chief was fighting for the protection of his Igbo people who suffered killings, harassment and humiliation during the last year February elections.
To buttress their position they said what chief Nwajagu said was not more violent than what MC Oluomo, Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and others said and actually did during the February elections.
