If FAAN is moved to Lagos because airlines operate from there, ministry of commerce should move to Onitsha—Dalhatu,chairman of Arewa consultative forum argues
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum ACF, Bashir Dalhatu, has reacted to the decision of the Federal government to move some departments in the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria FAAN to Lagos.
While speaking on Arise TV news, Dalhatu said if the Federal government argues that the decision to move FAAN is based on the fact that most airlines operate from Lagos, then the Ministry of Commerce should be moved to Onitsha, Anambra state or Kano state that are considered the commercial hubs in Nigeria.
Recently the federal government moved FAAN and some departments of CBN back to Lagos and this has not gone down well with some northern elites who are reading meanings into it.
