Super Eagles’ Goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, Receives Chieftaincy Title of Ugo Egbema of his community

Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been bestowed with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ugo Egbema, which translates to “The Pride of Egbema Kingdom.

The prestigious chieftaincy title was conferred upon him by His Royal Majesty, Nzeobi Evaristus Amida, the traditional ruler of Mgbede community.

The traditional ruler expressed the significance of the honour, attributing it to Nwabali’s exceptional performance that led Nigeria to the 2024 AFCON finals.

His Royal Majesty acknowledged the goalkeeper’s outstanding saves, which not only contributed to the success of the Super Eagles but also brought immense pride and honour to the Egbema Kingdom.

Recalling Nwabali’s stellar contributions to the Super Eagles, the traditional ruler emphasized the need to celebrate individuals who bring honour and glory to their people.

In addition to the chieftaincy title, Stanley Nwabali was also rewarded at the state level.

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, acknowledged the goalkeeper’s achievements by conferring a state honour upon him and presenting a generous gift of N20 million.

The governor commended Nwabali for his outstanding contributions to Nigerian football and his exemplary representation of Rivers State on the national stage.
