24 hours after looting NEMA warehouse hungry Nigerians attack, loot truck carrying food items in Dei-Dei Abuja

A truck conveying food items was on Monday attacked by some residents at Dei-Dei in the Bwari Local Area of Federal Capital Territory.

This comes barely 24 hours after some residents of the Federal Capital Territory raided and plundered a warehouse belonging to the Federal Capital Territory’s Department of Agriculture.

SaharaReporters learnt that the warehouse was raided on Sunday morning.

The warehouse is located in Karimo – Gwa Gwa, Phase 3 Region of the FCT, Abuja.

SaharaReporters gathered that the residents carted away foodstuffs and other items.

However, Dei Dei residents on Monday morning also attacked and looted a truck carrying food items.

A source in the area told SaharaReportere that the truck was coming from the Zuba area via Madalla Road, and was attacked at the Dei-Dei junction.

The source said, “The truck was coming from Zuba – Madalla Road, but was attacked at the front of NNPC filling station in Dei-Dei on Monday between the hours of 7 am and 10 am.

“Most of the culprits who attacked the truck were actually artisans who regularly offload goods from such trucks

“I think the truck was coming from the Northern part of the country. The goods inside were to be taken to the warehouse that was attacked on Sunday.

“But because of the attack on the warehouse, the truck was parked along Mandalla Road, until Monday morning when the driver received a signal that everything was under control, then it proceeded to the warehouse. But the truck was attacked before it got there.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh said the command was not aware of any looting of a food truck.

She said, “The FCT Police Command is not aware of any looting of food truck in Dei-Dei Abuja this morning being the 5/3/2024 but if you have any information please come to us with details pls.”
