Abia state governor Alex Otti to give leadership talk at Cambridge University conference as guest speaker

The public speaking ability of Gov. Alex Otti is gaining more global acceptability as he features tomorrow, May 18, as a Guest Speaker at the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, United Kingdom.

This is coming barely one month after he delivered a lecture at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Affairs (SAIS), United States of America.

Gov. Otti spoke on: ‘”State Governance and Economic Transitions: Meeting the Challenges through a Citizen-centred Approach,” at the US outing.

It was in the course of his lectures that he revealed how his predecessor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, approved the payment of N10 billion from the state coffers for the purpose of building airport but later instructed the contractor to wire the fund into 32 different accounts.

Otti, had then vowed that either his predecessor “shows us the airport or returns our money.”

Meanwhile, a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, gave the theme of the Cambridge conference as: “Kujenga Africa: Forging Global Alliances.”

It read: “The theme sets the stage for insightful discussions on the current and future landscape of business in Africa, best practices, success stories, and innovative approaches to effective public-private partnerships in infrastructure development, job creation, and service delivery. This is believed to be a crucial platform for shaping the future of business in Africa.”

According to the statement, Governor Otti will be appearing as a Guest Speaker on a fireside chat on the theme, “Africa Together: Public-Private Partnership.”
