I had my only child at age 40 with one fallopian tube—Veteran actress Ayo Mogaji

Veteran Nollywood actress Binta Ayo Mogaji, known to many as Mama Insurance, has opened up about her path to motherhood.

During an appearance on the ‘Talk To B’ podcast, Mogaji recounted a harrowing experience with an ectopic pregnancy, which necessitated the removal of one of her fallopian tubes.

Despite this setback, she was able to conceive and give birth naturally at the age of 40.

“Unfortunately, the pregnancy was ectopic. They took me to seven different hospitals. The doctor said he wasn’t sure I could survive until the next day. The operation took them seven to nine hours. Some of my colleagues who visited me at the hospital were crying,” Mogaji shared, reflecting on the difficult period.

Determined to become a mother, Ayo Mogaji had resolved to adopt if she could not conceive by the age of 40. However, she gave birth to her son just weeks after reaching this milestone.

“I stopped looking for a husband; I wanted to make a baby. I said if I don’t have a baby until I’m 40, then I’ll adopt a child,” she explained.

Her partner, Jibola, came into her life shortly before she turned 40, and their son was born six weeks after her birthday.
