Former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central District in the 8th National Assembly, has expressed concerns over Nigeria’s worsening economic issues, attributing them to the shutdown of businesses by some Western multinationals in the country.
He pointed out that these businesses are closing their operations due to the hostile environment.
Senator Sani made these remarks on his verified X account @ShehuSani on Wednesday.

The ex-lawmaker wonders why Chinese firms are not shutting down, even in the face of insecurity.
“I still wonder why Chinese firms are not closing down; the Chinese are even present in the bandits-infested villages of Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Nasarawa,” he added.
He noted that the Chinese in these states are engaged in mining activities for gold, gypsum, kaolin, and lithium. “What kind of people are the Chinese?” he questioned.
