Edo chief justice swears in Okpebholo as Governor,…. Outgoing Obaseki shuns inauguration ceremony

The Chief Justice of Edo State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa has sworn in Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of Edo State. He was sworn in alongside his deputy, Dennis Idahosa.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, marked a new chapter for the state following the tenure of outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki, who was notably absent from the event.

Okpebholo and Idahosa both pledged to uphold the Nigerian Constitution and work diligently for the welfare of Edo residents.

Addressing the audience, Okpebholo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead and promised to work tirelessly to advance Edo’s development.

Absent from the inauguration was outgoing governor, Godwin Obaseki, who did not attend the ceremony to formally hand over power to his successor.
