I’m just a content creator…the issue of prime minister of Biafra is a joke & not serious —Fugitive Simon Ekpa tells Finnish court

Simon Ekpa, a prominent pro-Biafra agitator and self-acclaimed spokesperson for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), stunned observers during his recent court appearance in Finland. Ekpa, who has been at the center of calls for the secession of the Biafra region from Nigeria, told the Finnish court that his claim to the title of “Prime Minister of Biafra” should not be taken seriously.

In his words, “I am just a content creator. The issue of being the Prime Minister of Biafra is not serious,” a statement that left many questioning the intent and authenticity of his previous declarations. Simon Ekpa has gained widespread attention online for his controversial broadcasts and commands of sit-at-home orders, which have disrupted economic activities in Nigeria’s Southeast region.

The case in Finland stems from allegations surrounding his activities, which some Nigerian authorities claim contribute to civil unrest back home. Simon Ekpa, however, downplayed his influence during the court proceedings, arguing that his actions should be viewed in the context of online content creation rather than a direct political or revolutionary agenda.
