Double tragedy as Jigawa state Governor loses son in motor accident 24 hours after losing mother
It is a double tragedy for a governor in Nigeria as he has lost his son right after losing his mother, within 24 hours interval.
A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel said Abdulwahab Umar Namadi eldest son of Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa died on Thursday as a result of a ghastly auto crash along Dutse-Kafin Hausa road.
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
“He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday, December 26th, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.
24 year old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and many siblings.”
The burial rite takes place in Kafin Hausa town, in accordance with Islamic rites.
It is a double tragedy coming while the governor was still mourning the death of his mother Hajia Maryam Namadi.
