Igbos both at home & abroad should rally round support for Tinubu in 2027 as this is pay back time —Dave Umahi, Minister Of Works
According to ARISE TV, David Umahi, Nigeria’s Minister of Works, has urged the Southeast to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections, stating that the region must express gratitude for Tinubu’s leadership and back his reelection campaign. According to Umahi, Tinubu has greatly benefited the Southeast, particularly in the area of infrastructure development.
He argues that major road projects, including the Second Niger Bridge and several highways, are clear signs of Tinubu’s commitment to the region.
He also stresses that the Southeast has now been reintegrated into national politics under Tinubu.
He points out that, in the past, the region was often seen as opposing the central government.
Now, he claims, the Igbo people have a chance to build stronger ties with the presidency and benefit from federal projects.
According to Umahi, political unity is crucial for the Southeast and urges all governors and political leaders in the region to put aside any differences and support Tinubu’s second-term bid.
“And I thank Ndi Igbo, when there was a demonstration, the last one, the entire Igbos, whether in Nigeria or outside Nigeria, they aid no, we didn’t demonstrate again.”
“So, we have to support the President. And in 2027, every governor in Southeast must show appreciation to the president so that we have only one presidential candidate. That is payback time. We are not yet campaigning, but we are giving information to the people,” he said.
