I’m not scared of dying like Gaddafi or Sankara—Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore Boasts

In a recent statement, Traoré boldly declares that he is not afraid of dying, like past major revolutionary leaders like as Muammar Gaddafi and Thomas Sankara, who were both slain for challenging the Western rule.

“They keep telling me I will die like Gaddafi, Thomas Sankara, or any young leader that tried to make Africa better. I am not scared, and I won’t regret dying for my people.” – he said.

Since Traore took over as Burkina Faso president he has been doing revolutionary things to shift the vicious grip of former colonial masters France.

Some of his decisions and actions are not going down well with Western powers and there is palpable fears that he might be taken out and eliminated just like the way they killed his late compatriot Thomas Sankara and Libyan leader Mummar Ghadaffi.
