Hungry Abuja residents suffering economic hardship invade NEMA warehouse & loot foodstuffs, other items

The warehouse of the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA), Karimo, Phase 3, Abuja has been looted by residents on Sunday morning

The residents carted away foodstuffs and other items.

Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja have been deployed to the area to disperse the looters and secure the building.

The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident to newsmen.She said that the situation had been brought under control. “The situation is now under control,” she said.

Many Nigerians have been lamenting hardship following the removal of fuel subsidy and the devaluation of the naira after it was floated by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the policies which culminated into
the rise in prices of goods and rate of inflation.
