Wide condemnation hits Governor Adeleke for spending N1 billion to renovate Govt house amid economic hardship
All Progressives Congress has criticized the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke for refurbishing Government House with alleged N1billion.
Governor Adeleke had last Saturday opened the newly-rehabilitated Government House in Osogbo with top officials and dignitaries joining him for inspection of the facilities.
A statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said “the rehabilitation covers the main house, the completion of an abandoned multi-bedroom guest house, remodelling of many of the structures, refixing of many derelict facilities and facelift of the entire Government House.”
Reacting, APC state Chairman, Kola Olabisi, yesterday described the inauguration as a misplaced priority.
He said: “It is a shame that Governor Adeleke could be involved in flaunting the Government House rehabilitated with N1billion in this austere period and when Osun State has been declared the corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.”
This should be highly condemned as it’s irresponsible and insensitive for Governor Adeleke to spend such a homognous amount for just renovations.
