Veteran female banker Adaora Umeoji is Zenith bank new group managing director….replaces Ebenezer Onyeagwu
Nigeria’s foremost banking institution, Zenith Bank Plc, has appointed veteran female banker Dame Adaora Umeoji as the Group Managing Director effective June 2024, making her the first female to lead the bank.
Umeoji who’s the deputy GMD will take over from the workaholic and astute banker, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, who has been appointed Chairman of the board of Zenith Bank, United Kingdom.
Umeoji’s appointment is coming after five years at the helms of Dr Onyeagwu who was appointed Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc on June 1, 2019.
Umeoji’s appointment is subject to the approval of the Central Bank.
Umeoji an embodiment of brain and beauty holds multiple degrees, including a doctorate in Business Administration, and has completed prestigious programmes at Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and MIT Management Sloan School.
The new appointment will be communicated to stakeholders through the Nigerian Exchange.
