Protect our policemen against unknown gunmen & receive N10 million as reward on information on Enugu policemen killers–Governor Peter Mbah
The state Governor, Peter Mbah, has announced a ₦10 million reward for anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the policemen who were traveling in SUV Jeeps.
He also alleged that the killers are members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the military arm of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra. The Governor assured that everything within the ambit of the law would be done to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice as a strong deterrent to others.
At this juncture, permit me to suggest that our security operatives need to reconsider their modus operandi, as it is astonishing how these so-called unknown gunmen have been able to target our security personnel in quick succession.
Where is the emphasis on intelligence and the utilization of sophisticated equipment in the operations of our security forces, that they have become so susceptible to the firepower of the enemy?
In conclusion, I believe society would greatly benefit from adequate security measures, promoting safety of lives and property. This would also foster an environment conducive for both local and foreign businesses to thrive. Let us remember that security is the responsibility of all, essential for the socio-economic development of our dear country. God Bless Nigeria.
