Peter Obi is a fraud packaged just like Buhari to deceive Nigerians—Sowore

In a recent no-holds-barred interview, Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), made bold allegations against Peter Obi, his counterpart from the Labour Party. Sowore claimed that Obi was fraudulently packaged for the 2023 election to deceive Nigerians, drawing parallels with President Buhari’s controversial tenure.

Sowore, known for his critical stance towards the political elite, stated he was the first to expose Obi’s alleged corrupt dealings during his tenure as Anambra State Governor. He accused Obi of building substandard hospitals, failing to build schools, and misappropriating state funds for private business ventures. These accusations were reminiscent of his previous exposés on other prominent politicians, including President Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Despite the widespread support Obi received from many Nigerian youths, Sowore expressed his general disdain for dishonest politicians, criticizing their lackluster performance and fraudulent packaging. He drew a stark comparison with Buhari, highlighting how the former president was similarly loved until his administration led to widespread insecurity, corruption, and loss of lives.

Sowore emphasized that his criticism was not driven by personal animosity but by a commitment to exposing the truth and preventing the public from being misled by political facades. He urged Nigerians to scrutinize their leaders’ past actions and not be swayed by emotional attachments or repackaged narratives.

Ironically same Sowore has been accused of fraud with visible evidence.

Former minister of finance and now Director –General of World trade organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in her book Fighting corruption is Dangerous said Sowore asked her to pay him millions of naira in exchange to cover up her misdeeds as a finance minister. She provided a recorded telephone between her and Sowore where he made the fraudulent monetary demands.
