Inec declares Governor fintiri of pdp as governor-elect of adamawa re-run election

Incumbent Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has been declared winner and duly elected of the adamawa re-run governorship election.

The declaration was done by inec through the state returning officer after collation and counting of votes of the election held last Saturday April, 15, 2023.

Fintiri polled 9,337 to defeat the APC candidate Aisha Binani who polled slightly over 6000 votes in the re-run election.

Earlier on Sunday the adamawa REC Yunusa-Ari had illegally declared the APC candidate Aisha Binani as the winner of the election.

The buzz has been on the emergence of Aisha Binani as the first elected female Governor in Nigeria.

On Monday the embattled Aisha Binani went to court to seek for an injuction sustaining the illegal declaration that she won the adamawa re-run election.
However the court threw out her case on grounds of legal jurisdiction.
