Tragedy in Edo as 19 years old native doctor kills customer while testing bulletproof amulet charm on him
In a tragic turn of events, a 19-year-old native doctor, Timothy Dauda, has been taken into custody by the Edo State Police after allegedly shooting his client, Alex Ezekiel, to death while testing a bulletproof charm he had crafted. The incident, which occurred in Onumu Community in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, highlights the perilous consequences of relying on traditional protective charms.
According to SP Moses Joel Yamu, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, the fatal incident unfolded when Ezekiel approached Dauda seeking a charm that would supposedly make him impervious to bullets. After creating the charm, Dauda, in an attempt to prove its efficacy, shot Ezekiel. Contrary to expectations, the charm failed, leaving Ezekiel fatally injured.
Ezekiel was rushed to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, but despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The police quickly apprehended Dauda, who is known for specializing in charms purportedly offering protection against firearms and bladed weapons.
SP Yamu confirmed that the suspect is currently in police custody and will face charges following the completion of the ongoing investigation. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers associated with traditional practices that promise invincibility, often leading to tragic outcomes.
