40,000 students granted students loans at over N10 billion—NEFUND Managing Director Sawyer

The managing director of NEFUND Akintunde Sawyer has disclosed that about 40,000 Nigerian students have so far received the federal government students loan.

Mr Sawyer disclosed this on Channels television in an interview with Seun Okinbaloye as he further stated that it has cost the federal government over N10 billion.

He went on to reveal that the mode of fund disbursement include paying in full the tuition fees of the recipient students and giving out the rest of the money for their upkeep.

Mr.Sawyer insisted that the loan disbursement for now is for federal government institutions like the universities, polytechnics, colleges of education etc and that president Tinubu is committed to the success of the programme as he has made adequate funds available for disbursement.
