Five ex students of command secondary school,Abakiliki going for school reunion die in midnight road accident
Five people have been reportedly burnt to death following a ghastly motor accident involving a Mass Transit bus at G-Hostel axis of Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway.
The bus fully loaded came from the Enugu axis and fell into the unfortunate accident that claimed the lives of five people and injured seven others who are currently hospitalised at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi state, Mr Joshua Ukandu who confirmed this to journalists disclosed that the Commercial bus fully loaded with passengers crashed and burst into flames after encountering an obstacle on the road in the middle of the night.
He noted further that seven other passengers involved in the accident were receiving treatment at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, while the remains of those who died had been deposited in the mortuary.
The said obstacle, Agenda Papers learnt, was kept as a result of the on-going rehabilitation of some failed portions of the Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway.
An ex student of the school who craved to be anonymous said that one of the victims of the accident was a woman whom it took ten years to conceive and have a child. She further revealed that her husband died a few years ago, now living the poor child without a father and a mother.
