I now rely on rent from my Kaduna house to feed as a result of economic hardship—Buhari
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has lamented the current hardship in Nigeria.
Buhari disclosed that he now relies on rent from one of his two houses to feed himself.
Addressing the All Progressives Congress, APC, Caucus at the Katsina State Government House, the former president insisted that he never enriched himself in a corrupt way while in office for eight years.
He noted that he has only three houses in Daura, Katsina State, and Kaduna State, Buhari, insisting that nobody could blackmail him for illicit enrichment while in office.
The former president tasked leaders on transparency and accountability as guiding principles while in office.
Buhari pointed out that most Nigerians are unaware of the administrative challenges involved in governing the country but simply blame their leaders during and after their tenures.
“After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I get money for feeding,” Buhari said.
Many Nigerians have doubted the claim of Buhari because as a former head of state and president he collects millions as pension and allowance.
Added to that Nigerians are doubting everything being said by Buhari as the story previously making the rounds is that he is an anti corruption czar who has only one house in his village Daura, Katsina
