Nwankwo Kanu’s Enyimba continue to face mounting pressure as the club struggles in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), following yet another defeat that has left fans disillusioned.
The latest setback came on Wednesday when Enyimba lost 1-0 to Bendel Insurance, marking the team’s second consecutive loss and leaving them languishing in 10th place on the league table.

In a match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Enyimba’s performance was hampered by a red card issued to centre defender Innocent Gabriel early in the first half.
Despite a spirited effort in the second half, where they made five substitutions, Enyimba could not find an equaliser. The lone goal for Bendel Insurance came from Kayode Oke, who deflected a shot from Nnamdi Anthony into the net.

As the defeats pile up, fans have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with Kanu’s management of the club. Many supporters are calling for accountability.
“Enyimba FC..What’s going on with poor results.. Maybe relegation will reset the management brains.” Others echoed similar sentiments, stating, “What a season Enyimba is having lolz. This is a case of what I ordered versus what I got. Drastic measures need to be taken immediately.”
The frustration is palpable among fans who feel that the club’s management is failing to address its ongoing issues. One supporter remarked,
“The sports director is nothing to write about; the board members are so unserious. Enyimba of before can get maximum points away from home.” Another added, “The management and the players I think they should sit down and ask themselves thorough questions about their loyalty to this once pride of the east.”
With only one win in their last eight matches across all competitions, Kanu and his team are under immense pressure to turn their fortunes around.
Coach Stanley Eguma acknowledged the missed opportunities during the match and emphasised the need for corrections ahead of their next encounter against Rivers United.
