Passenger caught with stolen items on Lagos-Portharcourt route handed over to police & blacklisted —Air Peace
Air Peace is going tough on in-flight theft as a passenger caught with stolen items on the Lagos-Port Harcourt route has been blacklisted.
In a statement on Thursday, the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Ejike Ndiulo disclosed that the suspect was found with the missing items after a thorough search upon arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport.
“The individual was immediately handed over to airport police for further investigation.
“We confirm an incident of in-flight theft onboard flight P47190pn February 19,2025. The airline reiterates it’s unwavering commitment to passenger safety and security and has taken decisive action in response to the situation,” the statement read.
Concerned over the increasing incidents of in-flight theft, the airline has also announced new measures to combat the trend.
As part of these efforts, cabin crew members have been instructed to heighten vigilance, while in-flight announcements will now emphasize passenger awareness on securing belongings and reporting suspicious activity.
Reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance, the airline is blacklisting the suspect and strengthening security policies to prevent future occurrences.
“Air Peace remains committed to providing a safe and secure travel experience for all passengers. We urge the public to cooperate with security measures and report any suspicious behavior,” Ndiulo stated.
