House of Representatives donates N705 million to Tinubu to support needy Nigerians in Ramadan

The House of Representatives has presented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a sum of N705 million to support needy Nigerians during the month of Ramadan.

The contribution, which was presented by the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Tajuddeen Abbas and Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu on behalf of the House, was said to be aimed at alleviating the economic hardships currently being faced by Nigerians

During the holy month of Ramadan, in a statement released by the House, the Speaker, Rt Hon Tajuddeen Abbas, explained that the donation was the House’s way of showing support and solidarity with the less fortunate members of the society, especially in these difficult times.

“The House of Representatives is committed to the welfare of all Nigerians, especially during this holy month of Ramadan.

We are aware that many families are currently facing difficult economic challenges, and we want to assure them that the House is standing by them and will do everything within our power to alleviate their suffering,” the Speaker said.

The Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, also emphasized that this contribution was made possible through the generous donations of members of the House, and it is a demonstration of their commitment to the well-being of their constituents.

“We are proud to be able to support our fellow Nigerians during this holy month. This contribution is a reflection of the House’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens, and we hope it will go a long way in easing the burden on those who are struggling,” he said.

The President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed his appreciation for the gesture and commended the House for their thoughtfulness and generosity towards the less privileged in the society.
