There is no official work Tinubu is doing in France that cannot be done in his Iragbiji home town —-Atiku blasts Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu’s trip to France, labeling it a “vanity trip” and accusing the President of neglecting his duties.

In a statement signed by Paul Ibe, his media aide, Atiku, questioned the justification for Tinubu’s trip, suggesting that the work being done could be handled domestically. The statement noted that by the time Tinubu returns from his latest escapade, he will have racked up a staggering 59 days in France since assuming office.

The statement criticized Tinubu’s leadership, claiming that his absence exacerbates the country’s problems, including insecurity and poverty. “While Tinubu dines under chandeliers in the land of good governance, the country he governs is spiraling into chaos,” the statement read.

The office highlighted the dire situation in Nigeria, citing the killing of over 100 people in Plateau and the insecurity in Benue, among other issues.

Said Atiku: “Nigeria is in a full-blown state of emergency,” the statement declared. “Not a contrived political emergency like what Tinubu declared in Rivers for partisan gain — this is a national collapse.”

Atiku’s media aide sarcastically asked when Tinubu would declare a state of emergency on his own presidency, implying that his leadership is disastrous and in dire need of reevaluation.

The statement concluded by questioning Tinubu’s priorities and suggesting that he should cut his trip short and return to address the country’s problems.
