17-year-old Nigerian calls police on his elder sister in Canada over property dispute as police forced her out of apartment
A 22-year-old Nigerian lady based in Canada has gone viral after clashing with her 17-year-old brother over property, a situation that led to police involvement and a possible lawsuit.
The incident was detailed in a series of posts shared via TikTok, where the lady narrated her experience.
According to her, the disagreement began when her brother allegedly sold several of her personal belongings without her consent—including a scooter she said she bought for $700, which he reportedly sold for just $100.
She revealed that despite explaining her side of the story to the police, she was asked to vacate the apartment.
Frustrated by the outcome, she announced her intention to take legal action against her brother.
In one of the videos, she expressed her shock and betrayal: “This is the criminal” — she claimed her younger brother said this to the police after calling them on her.
She explained that her health crisis late last year left her financially vulnerable: “I got severely sick in November of 2024, which made me lose my job. I couldn’t pay rent, so I entrusted a close friend of mine to rent my room while my dad paid my brother’s rent.”
She continued: “I traveled to Toronto in February to look for jobs. I got back today and this is what I faced. I used to live here. The agreement between me and the roommate was that he would stay here and pay rent while I was gone, because he didn’t have anywhere to stay.”
“He begged me to let him stay. I didn’t want to sell my stuff because I had so many things in the house.”
“My brother took my $700 scooter and sold it for $100,” she added.
Despite her efforts to explain her situation to the police, the lady said she was told to leave the apartment, stating that the police accepted a different version of events.
As the videos circulated online, many users flooded the comment section to express their thoughts and weigh in on the complicated family drama.
