Nollywood veteran Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, has reportedly died on August 15, 2025, with the cause of death yet unknown.
The actor and director had a long career in theatre, television, and filmmaking.
He reportedly died on Friday morning, August 15, 2025, as announced by filmmaker Seun Olukoteyo.
The cause of death is yet to be confirmed as at the time of going to press.
Chief Kanran was, also a notable directo who began his acting as a child.
He studied theatre arts at University of Lagos and ObafemiAwolowoUniversity, Ile-Ife
He hosted a TV programme on MTV Lagos and later veered off into full-time filmmaking.
