One of the sons of Islamic fundamentalist Sheikh Gumi has just finished his course and graduated at the elite military institution, the Nigerian Defence Academy.
According to the Twitter post of the former Kaduna state Senator, Shehu Sanni he said that the son of the fiery Islamic jihadist was among the graduates of the top brass academy who concluded their studies.
Senator Shehu Sanni went further to congratulate and wish him well in his military career and service to our country.
Sheikh Gumi has been very controversial in the area of religious irredentism, fundamentalism and insecurity in Nigeria.
On several occasions he has called out his riotous followers to protest and occupy streets of Kaduna and Abuja in his bid to entrench his own form of religion.
Over the years Gumi has been making provocative statements concerning the activities of Boko Haram, bandits, terrorists who have been killing and kidnapping thousands of Nigerians. His comments are kind of tacit support for the bandits.
Gumi is fond of warning government not to descend hard on them but rather treat them with kids glove and even negotiate and pay them huge sums of money as a right.
With his son joining the elite cadre of the Nigerian military there are wide speculations and apprehensions that it may pose serious security threats to the country.
