I’m in search of a new husband—26 years old Damilola, wife of late Alaafin Adeyemi
One of the wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, Queen Damilola Adeyemi, has begun the search for a lover following the death of her estranged husband in 2022.
The 26-year-old announced her intention to remarry in the live session of Yoruba movie star, Adams Kehinde aka Lege Miami’s show for singles.
Lege, who runs a show for single matchmaking on Instagram chided Damilola for donning a black Abaya while wanting a lover.
He then proceeded to tell the widowed queen to wear skimpy outfits, so as to make herself more enticing to prospective suitors.
According to Ifa Priest, Ifayemi Elebuibon, the queens of Alaafin could either remarry after the late king’s burial rites or remain in the palace where the new king would inherit them as his wives.
This is coming months after Queen Ola Badirat, the youngest wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyeye, opened up on an alleged romantic relationship with All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, MC Oluomo and fuji singer, King Wasiu Ayinde Mashal, popularly known as Kwam1.
Recall that Badirat was alleged to be among female Nollywood stars secretly dating MC Oluomo.
Reacting to the report, the queen said she was unaware that the late monarch had put a restriction on her international passport before his demise which led to her arrest while travelling to Umrah, and was detained in DSS custody for 2 days.
The queen noted that she reached out to a few people, but they couldn’t do anything, the reason she solicited the help of MC Oluomo and she would forever be indebted to him.
Recall that the late Alaafin of Oyo Oba Adeyemi married 13 wives in his life time.
Many of his wives are itching to remarry after his demise last year. But it is speculated that certain traditional and cultural cleansing have to be performed on any of his wives craving to remarry or have amorous relationship with any man. If that is not done the unlucky man may die if he goes into any of the wives or meet grievous calamities.
