The Akwa Ibom state house of assembly has concluded arrangements to pass a law prohibiting young girls from having sex with married men.
All things being equal the law is expected to receive a gravel hit tomorrow, Tuesday January,13th, 2026.
The bill is sponsored by the Deputy governor Her Excellency senator Akon Inyang.
The bill further indicated that any young girl, lady or woman caught sleeping with married a man will go for 10 years imprisonment without any fine, while the man in question will pay a fine of N2 million naira.
Akwa Ibom is the first state in the federation to pass this kind of bill and it is expected to bring some morality ,decency and curb indiscriminate sleeping with married men in the state
