The Ogun State government on Monday revealed that a medical doctor has been remanded in prison for allegedly issuing a false medical report to help popular blogger Adetoun Onajobi, known as @justadetoun, avoid arrest.
The State Police Command has also filed a six-count charge against Onajobi, who is currently evading law enforcement, following a government petition against her.
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN), stated that Onajobi, an internet personality, has repeatedly been accused of bullying, harassment, and using offensive language against individuals online.
The issue escalated after boxing champion Anthony Joshua was involved in an accident in Ogun State.
Onajobi allegedly shared videos claiming there were no ambulance services in the state and accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of being in Ghana, partying, and impregnating women instead of attending to the boxer’s welfare.
Ogungbade described the claims as false, malicious, and misleading, stressing that Ogun State operates several state-owned and state-supported ambulance services. He added that such misinformation posed a risk to public safety.
Following these allegations, Onajobi was reported to the police for violations of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
She was invited for questioning on January 5, 2026, after receiving a formal notice on January 2 but failed to appear and reportedly went into hiding.
While on the run, Onajobi claimed she was ill and unable to report to authorities, submitting a medical report from a Lagos-based doctor via her lawyer.
Investigations later revealed that the report was fraudulent. The doctor allegedly admitted to never having met, examined, or treated her.
The doctor has been arrested, charged, and remanded for providing false medical documentation and obstructing justice.
Investigations are ongoing to identify additional accomplices. Onajobi remains at large.
Ogungbade questioned why Onajobi, who claimed to have evidence, failed to present it to authorities or publicly, adding that falsifying medical records further undermines her credibility.
The statement also alleged that Onajobi previously harassed a woman sweeping an estate in Lagos and unlawfully filmed and shared images of the woman’s underage child online.
