Double speaking and recently appointed ambassador of the federal republic of Nigeria Reno Omokiri has said he is shunning the Christian faith Lent and fasting to join Muslims in their Ramadan fasting.

Thank God it is Ramadan. Welcome to the Holy Month.
We thank Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, the creator of Heaven and the Earth, who granted us this highest Barakah among the living, which is to witness another Holy month of Ramadan and to fast in it.
I call on the faithful to purify their hearts and intentions for this act of worship in this sacred month, and to seize the moment to deepen repentance, prayers, and to seek forgiveness from God, and to grant it to others.
Please make an effort to help people in need with what they will use to break their fast.
During this period, let us pray for our dearly beloved country, for peaceful religious and ethnic coexistence among us, and for our leaders to help them put Nigeria on the righteous path, especially in the last ten days when we wake up for Qiyamum Lail.
May shifa, sabr, iman, hikmah be your portion this month.
