Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Alhaji described the most infuriating aspect of the ordeal. Watch The Video.
He revealed that the individual who collected the ransom posted images and videos of the cash online, effectively taunting the families and contributors who had raised the funds.
The act has intensified feelings of anger and helplessness among those who mobilized donations through crowdfunding efforts.
The ransom payments—₦10 million for Abba and ₦7 million for Mariam, totaling ₦17 million—were delivered after negotiations reduced the initial demands.
Despite the handover, the abductors refused to release the victims and imposed additional conditions, including extra cash and motorcycles.
The public display of the ransom money has added insult to injury, highlighting the audacity of criminals operating in regions such as Zamfara State.
Alhaji said: “The most upsetting part is that these people are coming out on social media to post the money we gave them. That alone makes me very angry. The person who received the money came online to show it. Honestly… I don’t even want to go into those details right now.”
