The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media personality and self-styled relationship therapist Blessing CEO before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, over alleged fraud involving N36 million.
In a statement posted on its X handle on Friday, the EFCC says Blessing CEO, whose real name is Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, was brought before Justice D.I. Dipeolu on Friday, May 15, 2026, on a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretences and stealing.
According to the EFCC, the influencer allegedly received N36 million from one Mrs Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and 17, 2024, under the pretext of securing a six-bedroom detached duplex in Lekki, Lagos, a property prosecutors say she had no authority to lease.
During proceedings, Blessing CEO’s lawyer told the court that his client had already refunded N24 million of the alleged amount to the complainant and asked for time to settle the outstanding balance.
The defence also requested that discussions between the parties continue, noting the complainant’s willingness to pursue a private settlement.
However, the prosecution argued that the EFCC was not involved in any private settlement between the influencer and the complainant, stressing that the Federal Government is the complainant in the criminal case.
Justice Dipeolu ruled that any private discussion would not halt the court process. Blessing, CEO, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge also allowed Blessing, CEO, to be remanded in EFCC custody while her bail conditions are perfected and adjourned the matter to June 5, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
The arraignment adds to the growing scrutiny surrounding the online influencer, who was recently called out over alleged false cancer claims and suspected misconduct involving donations.
