Former factional Labour party chairman Lamidi Apapa officially resigned from his former political coalition—the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This is following a previous departure from the Labour Party as he now joins the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
He publicly announced this transition by stating, “My Destiny now lies in the NDC Party”.
This move is part of a broader political realignment that has seen several opposition figures transition to the newly prominent NDC
. The shift primarily stems from ongoing factional crises, legal disputes, and disorganization plaguing previous opposition coalitions.
Few weeks ago it was widely reported that Lamidi Apapa has jettisoned partisan politics and now gone back to his previous job as a mortuary attendant in Ibadan.
Political observers are watching to see if NDC will accept Apapa whom it was alleged was used by the ruling party to scuttle and scatter the once vibrant Labour Party.
